In the first game of the Klein tournament, Kingwood attempted to even the record with Klein Collins.  Corey Frankum led off the first inning with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Matt Scaramuzzi.  Klein Collins followed in the bottom of the first with 2 runs on 3 hits to take a 2 - 1 lead.  In the second inning, Kingwood tied the score at 2 on a double by Brett Stilwell and an RBI single by Nick Purcell.  In the bottom of the second, Klein Collins scored an unearned run to take a 3 - 2 lead.  In the top of the seventh, Kingwood tied the score at 3 on a single by Ryan Grundy and an RBI single by Tony Floyd.  In the bottom of the seventh Klein Collins won the game 4 - 3 on a leadoff walk, an error and a single.  Nick Purcell finished the night 2 for 3 with one RBI.  Conor McGinnis pitched the first 4 innings and Ryan Grundy completed the game.
