Kingwood vs Conroe
Feb 26, 2005
In the fourth and final game of the tournament for the
Mustangs, the rain came and so did the Conroe
bats as Conroe
scored four in the first and cruised to a 9-3 win over the Mustangs.
Kingwood got a run in the second as Doug Simmons and Thomas McCormick
walked. They were followed by a towering infield fly that resulted in
some confusion on the base paths and ended up with the Mustangs running into a
double play and McCormick ending up on second. Austin Wood followed with
an RBI double. Kingwood scored two more in the third with the first
coming on a Johnny Whittleman home run to right field. One out later
Kenneth Negron walked and moved to third on a couple of passed balls and scored
on a Simmons double. This would be all the scoring the Mustangs could
muster on this cool rainy day suffering their first loss of the year.
Ryan Torres started and took the loss on the mound. He was followed to
the hill by Zack Enriquez who was making his varsity debut and Blake Steil who
went the final two innings. Whittleman(1-2, HR),
Simmons(1-2) and Wood(2-2) had the Mustang hits in the game
