In their first meeting of the season, the Sophomore
baseball team defeated Humble by a score of 6 to 4. Reaching base all
four at bats, Austin Ebow led the team with a
triple, a double and two bases on balls. David Tittle
provided 3 RBI's in a 2 for 4 day, including a triple and a single. Derek
Draeger, also two for four, had a double, a
single and one RBI. Others with hits include Eric Stover, Jordan Raney,
Ryan Grundy and Matt Brown. On the mound, Michael Oros
had a rough first inning giving up 4 runs on 5 walks and one hit.
With one out in the first, Conor McGinnis came in to
relieve, getting the second out on a fielder's choice and
striking out the next batter. McGinnis ended the day with the win,
pitching a scoreless 5-2/3 innings, striking out six and giving up only one hit
and two walks. The Sophomore team is now
19-3-1 overall and in first place in district with a 11-1-1 record.
