The Kingwood JV Mustangs improved to 13-4 overall and 10-0 in district play with a 7-0 win over Beaumont Westbrook on Tuesday evening.  Austin Wood went the distance on the mound for the Mustangs scattering 3 hits, walking 3 and striking out 14 in the 7 inning contest.  The offense was led by Josh Fountain(2-2) Wood(2-3) John Seitz(2-4) Brennan Oliver(1-2) Jake Kolesar(1-1) Kyle Denney(1-3) Blake Steil(1-4) and Doug Simmons(1-4).

The previous Friday night the Mustangs completed their season sweep over Baytown Sterling with a 10-3 win.  The Mustangs only had 5 hits but coupled with 7 free passes it was all they would need.  A 6 run uprising in the 3rd put the Mustangs ahead to stay.  Simmons(1-2) Matt Grundy(1-3) Austin Pendleton(1-3) Thomas McCormick(1-3) and Wood(1-3) had the Mustang hits.  Zack Tumlinson went the distance on the mound for Kingwood.  The only sterling runs scored on a throwing error with the bases loaded allowing all three runs to come home.

The Mustangs also claimed a win over Sterling earlier in the week by an 8-1 score.  Kyle Denney (3-4) Matt Grundy (2-2) John Seitz (1-4) Brennan Oliver (1-4) and Austin Wood (1-3) led the offense.  Wood was on the hill for the Mustangs and allowed only 1 hit, walked 2 and struck out 8 to get the victory
