Kingwood 2 - Sam Rayburn 1
Kingwood's Justin O'Bannon pitched 4 innings and
allowed 1 run on 4 hits to claim his his 5th win of the year. Catcher Michael
Flower hit a 2 run homer in the botton of the 1st scoring David Hoke, who had
singled, ahead of him. This was all the offense Kingwood produced as Rayburn's
Daniel Walters pitched 6 excellent innings, scattering 6 hits. Michael Hopper
came on to pitch in the 5th for Kingwood. The top of the 7th got interesting as
a walk and a hit batsman put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Lance
Pendleton then came in to pitch. A bunt attempt failed and Flower picked off the
runner at 2nd. Pendleton struck out the next two hitters to end the game.
Kingwood goes to 10-2 in district play.
