Kingwood traveled to Pasadena to go up against Sam Rayburn for the fourth time this year.  Fortunately the outcome was the same as their first three meeting as Kingwood came away with an 8 - 3 victory.  Kingwood jumped on top early with 2 in the top of the first.  With one out, Josh Fountain doubled.  After the second out in the inning, Austin Wood singled to drive home Fountain.  Levi Meyer then walked and Jake Kolesar singled to bring home the second run.  Rayburn scored once in the bottom of the inning but the Mustangs put three more on the board in the top of the second.  Kyle Denney walked with one out.  Josh Fountain then singled with two outs and Thomas McCormick singled to drive home two.  Austin Wood then doubled to bring home run number three of the inning to give the Mustangs a 5 - 1 lead.  It stayed that way until the top of the 5th when Kingwood scored 2 more.  Blake Steil walked in the 5th and Austin Pendleton reached on an error.  Both runners came around to score on a ground ball out and a couple of wild pitches.  Rayburn scored two in the bottom of the 5th and then the Mustangs scored one more in the 6th.  Levi Meyer singled.  He came around to score after a fielders choice, walk to Blake Steil and a Rayburn throwing error.  For the day, Josh Fountain was 2/3 2 runs scored.  Thomas McCormick and Austin Wood were each 2/3 scoring once apiece.  Levi Meyer 1/3 1 run.  Kenneth Negron was 1/3 and Jake Kolesar 1/2.  Blake Steil, Austin Pendleton and Kyle Denney each scored a run.  Austin Wood pitched the first 5 innings.  He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, walked 3 and struck out 8.  Blake Hancock pitched the final inning and preserved the Mustang lead allowing no runs and walking one.
