Knowing what they had to do with District leading Dobie coming to town Saturday, the Kingwood Sophomores rallied late for a 6 - 2 victory to keep their title hopes alive.  The Longhorns struck first with one run in the top of the first off starter Blake Steil.  They tallied a second run in the top of the 4th and held a 2 - 0 lead after 4 1/2 innings before the Mustangs struck back in the bottom of the 5th.  With one out in the 5th, Kyle Denney reached on a Dobie error.  Jake Kolesar then walked.  Austin Pendleton singled to bring home the first run of the inning.  Thomas McCormick then walked to load the bases.  Kenneth Negron walked to bring in the second run and the Josh Fountain laid down a squeeze bunt to get the third run across.  Austin Wood then doubled to drive home runs four and five to give Kingwood a 5 - 2 lead after 5 full innings.  Kingwood scored an insurance run in the 6th when Denney led off the inning reaching on an error.  Blake Hancock was then hit by a pitch and both runners moved over on a Brian Jeanes sac bunt.  Michael Cvejanovich walked to load the bases and Denney scored on a wild pitch.  Austin Pendleton was 2/2, 1 run.  Blake Steil 1/3, Austin Wood 1/3.  Kyle Denney scored twice and Kenneth Negron, Michael Cvejanovich and Jake Kolesar once apiece.  Starter Blake Steil went 5 innings, allowed 5 hits, walked 2 and struck out 4.  Blake Hancock preserved the lead the final two innings allowing 2 hits while striking out 2.
